Since its inception in 1886, the State Fair of Texas has celebrated all things Texan by promoting agriculture, education, and community involvement through quality entertainment in a family-friendly environment. The State Fair of Texas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with all proceeds helping to preserve and improve Fair Park; underwrite museum, community, and scholarship programs for inner-city youth and students pursuing agricultural careers; and help improve State Fair operations. Job Description:
Replenishing supplies and condiments, assist in maintaining inventory and taking food orders. Maintain cleanliness in food service areas and throughout the food establishment. Notifying kitchen staff of any food orders or food shortages, or may be responsible for operating cooking equipment or preparing dishes and beverages. Must be able to operate drink-dispensing machines and be trained in fast paced food preparation. A knowledge of governmental health regulations and food safety is required. Food handling and sanitation knowledge is also vital. Should possess the ability to review and understand procedures, and general math skills are also necessary.
Helpful to have a food worker or food handler permit (City of Dallas).
Must be able to stand in a confined area for most of the work schedule. Must be able to stay alert and be able to exercise quick thinking. The ability to handle pressure and maintain an adequate energy level are a must.
