Since its inception in 1886, the State Fair of Texas has celebrated all things Texan by promoting agriculture, education, and community involvement through quality entertainment in a family-friendly environment. The State Fair of Texas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with proceeds helping to preserve and improve our home, Fair Park; underwrite museums, community initiatives, and scholarship programs to support students throughout the Lone Star State pursuing higher education; and help improve State Fair operations. Job Description:
Monitors exhibitors operations and compliance with State Fair rules and regulations; acts as liaison between exhibitors and Department Director & Manager; interacts with Co- Building Manager, Vendors, Fair Guest, Maintenance, Security, Dallas Fire and Rescue and Police to provide a safe family friendly environment for exhibitors and fair guest.
Work Schedule approximates:
Training – September 11
Move In – September 17 thru 23 (AM & PM Managers will rotate days) 8 hours
Show dates – September 24 to October 17
AM Manager 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Sunday – Thursday)
8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Friday – Saturday)
PM Manager 2:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. (Sunday – Thursday)
3:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. (Friday – Saturday)
Move-Out – October 18 to 20 (PM Manager may work as late as 1:00 a.m. closing night)
Duties:
Enforces rules and regulations. Ensures building is opened and closed at appropriate time. Monitors cleanliness of building and surrounding area. Maintains secure environment for products/display. Reports maintenance issues and follows up for correction. Responds to & reports emergency situations. Assist Vendors & Fair Guest with directions, complaints and general information.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or higher level of education. Previous work experience in face to face customer service. Oral and written communication; manual dexterity and strength; ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; kneel, stoop, push and pull up to 25 lbs.
